  • Can we visit the Heritage Centre during the week?

    Yes, either book on the website or call 0490 657 770.  If a volunteer is available you will be able to have a guided tour.

  • Can we camp at the aerodrome?

    Yes, free camping is available at any time. No bookings are needed. Donations for the upkeep of the area are accepted but not compulsory. Donation boxes are available at both information shelters.

  • Are there public toilets?

    Yes, public toilets are open 24/7 but no showers are available.

  • Is there a dump point?

    Yes, there is a dump point but no potable  water on site. Potable water is available in the town.

  • Can we bring our dogs?

    Yes, but they must be kept on a lead at ALL times, This is a working aerodrome so no dogs must roam free at any time.

  • What other attractions are there at the aerodrome?

    A Heritage Walk has been created around the former RAAF Base. Take a brochure and follow the 1.4 km track. Information plaques along the way will help you re-live the story.

  • Where can we eat in Nhill?

    The Farmers Arms and Union Hotels  and two cafes, Nhill Dine Inn, and Mr Le’s all provide meals. Light lunches are also available at the Nhill Bakery and Amber’s Sweet Bliss.

  • What other tourist attractions are in Nhill?

    Visit the Australian Pinball Museum, Paw Po (handcrafts from Myanmar), Gallery Central (display by local artists),  Lowana (local cottage crafts ), Vintage Machinery Museum, Down Memory Lane museum, Ford Truck museum, or the Nhill Silo.
